Our laying hens and a few roosters live their long and happy life of grazing and scratching outside on fresh grass, weeds and bugs. Our “Ladies” roam freely within a large perimeter electric fence which protects them from land predators. They are provided ample space to forage, run, roost, crow, and lay eggs and the coop is moved frequently to new grass. The chickens happily graze and scratch outside during the day and every evening they return to the mobile coop to roost for the night. These happy hens produce eggs that are incredibly delicious.
Our chickens love to graze! Even when there is snow on the ground, we shovel the snow so they can have access to the grass.
For our farm to be sustainable, we must capture the true cost of providing products that are raised humanely and give our animals the freedom to live true to their innate behavior. In addition to pasture and sunshine, we also provide our hens with “Certified Organic Feed”.
During the shorter days of winter, we do not supplement with artificial light. Every attempt is made to provide you with the freshest eggs possible for you to enjoy.
